How do you feel about President Obama's winning the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize?

Comments

Don't believe the . . .

President Obama receiving the Nobel Peace prize is the committee's attempt to give Bush the middle finger. Mr. Obama has not done anything worthy of what most people perceive the Peace prize to actually be about. Keeping in mind the award is given by a committee of five in a country that can't even protect themselves is a bit funny in itself. But, it makes news.

Ironically, committing over 30,000 more U.S. troops to die for war that we can't win put us on the same calamatity course that our military equalies traveled.

I know a certain segment of people love the president and that's cool. But I just wish a few of them could actually articulate something of substance with facts to forward their love fest. It is at times embarrassing to hear and read the lack of political insight and understanding that this group possesses. Even on your site, a place of insight, I am underwhelmed by the comments. Keep the faith.

Obama's Nobel Prize

I believe that Obama deserved the peace prize because
he the took the initiative and responsibility to travel abroad shortly after taking office to spread goodwill. The world was suffering from years of Bush's pompous leadership and we were in a global financial meltdown. Which was caused by unrestrained US regulatory practices. Obama went out amongst the negative feelings and reassured them that he was not Bush and under his leadership he would try to lead responsively and intelligently.

He deserves It!

President Obama deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. Many have won the Nobel Peace Prize based on their effort and not accomplishments: Examples of peoples good intentions for peace. Jimmy Carter: "for his decades of untiring effort to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights, and to promote economic and social development. John Hume, David Trimble"for their efforts to find a peaceful solution to the conflict in Northern Ireland" Why was Thomas Woodrow Wilson given the Nobel Peace Prize in 1919? MUHAMMAD YUNUS and GRAMEEN BANK for their efforts to create economic and social development from below.

I think many have won this on EFFORT. Why not The First Black President of the USA? His efforts is sustainable. With all the loose lipers of the conservative party, there will never be any thing the President can do to make them agree with him. He is a black man that intimidates the hell out of the loose lipers/slackers who could not even if you give them instructions to lead the country, would absolutely fail. If by chance they had the answers for the countries problem, then why on God's green earth did they not give this so called wisdom to their buddy Bush. Seems like if they had the answers, surely their partner could have used it.

For all the bashers and haters of The President of the USA, HMMMM, Can't hear ya, I turned the volume down on nonsense. "A wise man can see more from the bottom of the well, than a fool on top". Tavis, give me one, just one right winger/ Obama haters, who has universal wisdom for this Country? This Country is so Capitalism its ridiculous. One percent of the wealthy population controls the entire country and refuse to share a bread crumb with the poor. This is why Karma has slapped the Capitalism in the buttocks. This is truly just the beginning!

Obama deserves the Peace Prize.

I KNEW that he would win the Peace Prize. Here is the deal. People outside of the U.S. LOVE Obama, but they were not able to vote him into office. So to express their support for the integrity, intelligence and positive agendas that Obama stand for, the world gave him the Peace Prize.

Obama has had all of the mess from Bush dropped into his lap to untangle and problem solve. I don't think any person in history has had such an intense job to do. On top of that, he has so many negative, nagging, naysayers wolfing down his throat and on his back. Yet through it all, Obama maintains an upright posture and his integrity. Obama is also trying to heal all of the riffs Bush had made with the rest of the world.

Our president has done many progressive things towards the betterment of people's lives and the planet in a short 9 months in office. His peaceful, progressive plans for the world are endorsed by receiving the Peace Prize.

about President Obama's winning the 2009 Nobel Pea

How do I feel about President Obama's winning the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize? "I think Tavis or Dr. West should have won one before our President. They have been here for many year's, speaking up for and helping people. Look at their work's; Tavis is involved in Human and Civil Rights, helping to build young leader's, and has employee's (Is supplying Jobs), just to name a few thing's. I must not forget about his self-heip book's. Don't listen to me look-up their past work's. Mr. West is just as good. Keep-up the good work's Tavis and Dr. West. I must say, I don't care if you do not agree with me, this is just one being opinion, right or wrong I have a right to it :~)." Peace
