E-Government

Sun, 03/08/2009 - 21:25 | Government
After President Obama's election, a Computerworld.com article addressed the challenges for the administration in adapting the campaign's use of the Web for government applications. The article was a report on comments made at a seminar in Washington on technology and participatory government.
…it's still unclear how well those methods [Web 2.0 tools to solicit donations and feedback from supporters during the campaign] will translate into electronic government initiatives…many federal agencies still resist the idea of putting the information they control online, or else they don't have the resources required to do so…
Do you think e-government will work in making the federal government more participatory and open?

In this generation of "now"

In this generation of "now" accessibility and instant gratification, the "e-government" concept has advantages and disadvantages. Using internet as an outlet provides those that are familiar and accustomed to computer technology with another method of obtaining government information. But as the article alluded to, the population that essentially uses this technology, does not make up the collective. Simply stated, ultimately, the technology will be utilized by a mere margin of the overall population.
But saying this, I do not think that reaching everyone is the overall goal. And in reference to the above-mentioned question, I think it will make government more participatory.
The underlying objective is to reach the generation that I am a part of; the generation that would much rather read NY Times online than read a newspaper or watch Youtube than CNN. It is to take advantage, the way that Barack Obama has (and the article makes reference to), of the generation that for so long has been jaded about government and government policies/politics.
Those that are of older generations and not as accustomed to internet (and computers) will still have media outlets that provide the public with government information (television/published journals/newspapers), but as the world becomes increasingly technological, it will become harder to keep up.
(A concern that needs to be addressed, however, is security. Internet capabilities are becoming endless and its boundaries are becoming boundlessly international, so also we have to be concerned with what exactly is being relayed through this medium.)

The extermination of africans and latinos in America and Abroad

I found serious information that cannot be ignored at all. Please pay close attention that we are under attack right here in our country. Even though we have a president in our image, he is the icing on the cake. Presidents are never elected, they are chosen. I found that we have over 84 Concentration Camps here in AMERICA - They are fully staffed and some facilities can hold up to 2 million people - they are currently near the final phases. Who are they targeting - first AFRICANS ALL OVER THE WORLD AND LATINOS AND THEN THOSE WHO OPPOSE THERE 1 WORLD ORDER. THE KING ALFRED PLAN - ITS IN THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS - THEY WILL IMPOSE MARTIAL AND CREATE AN FAKE EMERGENCY. MONEY -POWER IT DOES NOT MATTER ITS RACE INTENTIONAL. PLEASE HELP SAVE HUMANITY HERE AND ABROAD.
