What if this is the beginning

What if this is the beginning of World Peace ? By "coloring" the White House, America may now be accepted among other countries, which have no color barriers.
What if wars immediately cease because an ally has finally promoted a man of color to sit down and be able to converse with a nation of color?

An end to bias views, racial

An end to bias views, racial intolerance, and hope past 2012.

I'm glad his mother was white and he looks like black america; the man is smart, with compassion, sympathy because he been through something which gives him a lot more understanding when dealing with racial bias views. He will put an end to a lot of racial divisions, so as to allow love to grow amongst those that believe in one God who love us all.

I'm tired of hatred towards blacks, by those who try and convince me this is the will of God. I'm tired of my white bro & sister being mislead by racial supremacy to do to others whatever they feel is right trusting in their own hearts instead of the word of God that commands us to Love & forgive. This is the fine race we must endure to be saved. Don't be mislead; we're too close to the end and 2012 is man's ideal of the return GOD and the end of this system according to the myan calender; yet Christ jesus don't even know when the end will be. Another manmade lie that could only happen by attentive reasoning of the actions they are taking against this earth by drilling without forsight into the end result they discovered by chance. With nothing to cool the earth's core like oil, the shift of platonic plates causing earthquakes. God knows we need courage to face those who exploit God's earth for profit without shame; we were created to take care of the earth, not destroy it and those in it, while seeking refuge in the moon and mar and every place besides where God put us. This is an Act of Hatred towards God's purpose for humans. Thank you Obama and your Mother for the Love of God they taught you, without selfishness, cause man you Got it!

big word IF

let science be what man says. you know and i know that garlic and bananas does not mix. i believe that with all my heart body and soul that this is the end of time. god wants you as an christian to continue with the faith that you have and remember phillipians 3 and 5 " i can do all things through christ that strenghtens me". i am a firm believer on that. all you have to do is love inspite of. and yes, God has a purpose for every thing that e intervine however, "yes we can"

I could not understand your

I could not understand your first two guests tonight. Would they ever be satisfied, unless maybe they could write Obama's speeches themselves? Applause began as soon as he mentioned that day 45 years ago, the people, and the march. There's no "reduction" in being called a "preacher from from Georgia". I suspect that Dr. King would be quite happy with that description. He is so well known, respected, and beloved that his name doesn't have to be mentioned. It's called subtlety. But maybe I'm not sensitive enough, since I'm white.

What has bothered me for years is those people who never want to acknowledge that he was a preacher and often quoted the Bible, but that's another subject.

OBAMA.....O...ONE.....B....BL

OBAMA.....O...ONE.....B....BLACK.....A....AMERICAN.....M....MAN...A...AT LAST...FOR PRESIDENT. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE COLOR BLIND. WHEN IT IS THIS EVIDENT. WE SEE WITH OUR MINDS AND OBSERVE WITH OUR EYES! WHAT ARE YOU SEEING?

In the words of Dr. West, In

In the words of Dr. West, In order to lead the people, you must love the people and race does matter. Blacks are giving Tavis a hard time because he said that Senator Obama should be held accountable. I agree with Tavis. Like many Blacks, I feel proud about the fact that Barack Obama could be the first black president of this divided country. But when I put that fact aside, what else is left. If he becomes the first black president, how will that affect blacks? We say he is very articulate, but he is not the first. We say he is very intelligent, but he is not the first. We said he is very inspirational, but again he is not the first. In this particular situation, Race does matter, it shouldn't but it does. Because of racism blacks have problems and are put into situations that whites can't even imagine. I am voting for Senator Obama because he is black, and at the end of that day I still won't know what that vote really means. I know that he has to be president for all the people, but will we as blacks see better days? This is a question that needs to be answered.

This election will bring out

This election will bring out all of our junk as we celebrate the first Black president. Prepare for the closest scrutiny blacks have ever had if he is elected president.
All of the people who draw the funny pages of President Bush will have to have a thick skin. The Jesse Jackson episode is only the tip of the iceberg within the race.

HOPE!! Something that we

HOPE!! Something that we haven't had in years. I feel that our race is feared by others because they fear what they don't understand. We are not only brilliant, we are a blessed, no longer bitter, and are a complicated people. My prayer is that our nation is healed through the changes that are bound to occur with this upcoming election. We as a race should indeed support our brother, not only because he is a brother, but because of what he represents, stands for and will contribute to us living and enjoying life in our country... In order that we will become "One Nation Under God - Indivisible"!!

I think his nomination means

I think his nomination means that Americans are tired of all of the empty promises given by past (& present) presidential candidates. Some people, no race mentioned, think that if he's elected president it'll mean a free pass for black people. I beg to differ. Sure I hope he'll do things that will help all minorities. For all people for that matter. But he's not a miracle worker! He's a man that needs America's prayers and support. I believe what God has for me is for me! What God has for Senator Obama is for Senator Obama.

"...they (certain Whites)

"...they (certain Whites) didn't want "peaceful relations" disturbed by the teaching of a new political thought...." Carter G. Woodson, The Mis-Education of the Negro"

Dr. Carter G. Woodson believed that if you wanted to create a good "citizen", one dedicated to the growth and success of this country, then you must create in that person an allegiance to this country. That allegiance is developed through a proper education of the content of The Constitution. And, it is developed through engaging in the use of the political process while actually seeing that process work to change the lives of those he/she interacts with. Certain Whites on the other hand, believed that if Blacks had a functional understanding of the Constitution then they would demand social justice and would be willing to fight and die for it as they had done. This of course would have disrupted the "peaceful relations" Whites had already established with Blacks since emancipation. Therefore, following emancipation, the opponents of social justice began teach History through the perspective of Black inferiority. "If you make a man feel that he is inferior, you do not have to compel him to accept an inferior status fore he will seek it himself."

Blacks in America had their view of the Constitution and the rights offered therein shaped through intimidation and Mis-education to the point where they believed that affairs of the government really did not concern them. As long as they were able to acquire the bare necessities in life, they were somewhat satisfied. They had to be, fore in their thinking there was no workable solution other than an all out war with the majority who seemed to control everything. Acceptance of social injustice became suitable to death.

As a people today in 2008, our view of the political process has been at best a choice between the lesser of evils during each presidential election. Black participation in the process has been very limited in overall numbers. And, we are distrustful of the process because it never seems to benefit us in our daily lives. So, the political process is reduced to an entertainment spectacle or something to talk about to pass the time of day. Enter Senator Barack Obama, a Black man who for the first time in the history of America seems to have a Real chance at winning the presidency. On the fact alone that he is Black, he will get a great many African-Americans to support him. But, the full voting power of the masses of Blacks will not be realized because of our poor experience with government and our Mis-Education within politics in general. We need to re-read the Constitution, and find ways to teach it in a way that inspires us to unify affectively behind our leaders. If Barack Obama is to be the next president on the backs of our vote then we must be able to give him the full benefit of our numbers and our properly educated allegiance.

I agree with all of the above

I agree with all of the above comments that one of the things that Sen. Obama's nomination means is that this country is ready for a change or a new direction so to speak. In the beginning, I was not sure that I was ready for an African American to get this far, simply because I did not believe that America would take him seriously. But after talking with so many white people who support Obama for their own reasons I could not figure out a good reason for me to not support him. In the beginning I thought he and Hillary Clinton were very similar on most of the issues, but I admit that a year ago I thought that she had a better chance. I did not make up my mind who to vote for until I walked into the voting booth, and after praying about it my gut told me that I had to vote for Obama.

I truly believe that Obama's nomination is a part of God's divine plan, therefore it does not matter that he is black, or what people say about him because God is ultimately the one who is calling the shots and as long as he stays on the right path, I believe that God is going to raise him up. America has been in a state of disarray for far too long now, and I believe that God is going to give us a leader that is going to do some extraordinary things.

Presidential candidate

Presidential candidate Senator Obama means positive change for America. His nomination gives voice back to the people. His earned nomination will awaken some who were sleeping on the 'do nothing politricks of the current administration. The Repubs have had eight long years of instilling the citizens of this great nation with a feeling of hopelessness. Time for self empowerment to re-emerge and take a hold of this once great nation. We as voters are voting to restore with Obama or live in vain with the yesterday politrix of McCain. Chances are mcshame will vote for Obama as well....Because it is the right thing to do to help restore a nation and make it Great again.

AMERICA IS READY FOR A DIAPER

AMERICA IS READY FOR A DIAPER CHANGE! REPUBLICAN BULLSHIT IS OLD AND MUST GO. WE ARE READY AND HOPEFUL TO EXHALE THE STRESS AND DEGRADATION THAT THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION HAS ISSUED OVER EIGHT YEARS. IT'S TIME TO CHANGE THE LOADED DIAPER, SO AS TONI BRAXTON ONCE SAID "BREATHE AGAIN!" I'M TIRED OF HIGH GAS PRICES, FOOD, AND HIGHJACKED EDUCATIONAL PRICES. IT FEELS LIKE I'M BEING SMOTHERED UNDER A FAT MAN'S BLANKET OF FARTS! AN INTOXICATING SMELLS OF PUNISHMENT INDEED. I FEEL LIKE I WENT TO SLEEP ONE NIGHT AND GOT CAUGHT UP IN A NIGHTMARE, FEATURING THE BUSH BUTTHEADS. I SLEPT AWHILE AND I COULDN'T AWAKE FROM MY IMPRISONMENT NIGHTMARE, EVEN IN MY MARCHING ON THE STAIRS OF THE WHITE HOUSE SHOUTING' HELL NO WE WON'T GO, THE DREAM JUST SEEMED TO DEEPEN ITS INTERROGATION. I SHOUTED FOR HELP AS I STOOD IN MY PJ'S WATCHING BUSH SMIRK ME UP AND DOWN-AT LEAST IT LOOKED THAT WAY-BUT ACTUALLY HE DIDN’T EVEN KNOW I WAS THERE. I SAW IRANIANS RIDING ON CAMELS THROUGH THE OVAL OFFICE WITH OSAMA ON THE HEAD CAMEL IN SEARCH OF WATER, OOPS, I MEAN OIL - SO THAT MINI MASTER BUSH COULD CONTINUE TO GET RICH. HOW AWFUL THIS DREAM WAS AND IT NEVER WOULD LET ME ESCAPE THE HAUNTED SHADOWS OF BUSH-BUTTHEADS IN WASHINGTON.

I CALL FOR COLIN POWELL AND CONDOLEEZZA RICE AS COLIN RUSHED INTO EXILE WITH WASHINGTON SECRETS IN HIS BAG. BUT SECRETARY OF STATE STOOD THERE HELPLESS WAITNG FOR HER TERM WITH BUSH BUTTHEADS TO EXPIRE. I CAME TO THESE OLD LARGE OFFICE FILLED WITH JACK-LEGS AND POLITICAL PIMPS, ALL LINED UP AND DOWN THE CONFERENCE TABLE. ALL WERE WEARING VETO ROBES WITH LARGE WRITINGS IN RED-VETO EVERYTHING GOOD!

THIS MADE ME ANGRY AS I SAT WATCHING HOW IN THE HELL DID I GET SO CLOSE TO THE WHITE HOUSE WITHOUT BEING APPREHENDED. OF COURSE I KNOW THIS WAS MY SPIRIT LOCKED INSIDE MY DREAM, TRYING TO FIND A WAY OUT OF THE HELL HOLE OF DEMONS. SWEAT OF ANGER POURING DOWN MY FACE AS I WENT OVER IN MY HEAD-THERE HAS GOT TO BE A CHANGE COMING.

FINALLY I TURNED AND SAW A LIGHT FROM...WHAT...HEAVEN DIRECTING ME TO THE EXIT DOOR OF FREEDOM. THERE I SAW A POSSIBILITY ANGEL OF HOPE AND CHANGE, FLYING ABOVE THE DEMONS IN CONFERENCE - CALLING OUT TO ME, COME MY WEARY AND FAITHFUL CHILD, CHANGE IS AT THE DOOR. COME WITH EXPECTANCY AND WATCH ME WORK A MIRACLE!

What is

What is possibility?

Possibilities of Process are in the making. Pessimist thinkers, unbelievers of ancient history and today- that think things will never change, take a look at history in action. Senator Obama; broke down the door of impossibility for many of our children; who has for so long walked the roads that leads to a dead end. All over America; Senator Obama is being talked about. Some good talk, some bad, but conversation about him is the norm. I wanted to reiterate the story of David (Senator Obama) Goliath (Unbelievers). David as the young fighter saw the giant not as the others did, but by his courage he knew he could take them on. The giant of Gath looked at David with contempt and did not even conceive of being beaten by this inexperience youngster. As it is today, many look at Senator Obama as the youngster that’s inexperience and can’t defeat the giants. Well who are we to make that sort of judgment. God has given each one of us our gifts, talents and abilities to withstand life storms. No matter how history has played the same old tune in the valley, when God is ready for a new song, it becomes a new song on the mountain top.

What does Sen. Obama’s nomination mean for America? His nomination means that we are in starvation mode for change. Change has triggered many of us to ride on our faith. It is by faith that mountains can be removed, joy can be restored and a table of four can be laced with plenty. I think God has designed this day for his glory. We are so famished for change that we have come together on one accord, Black, White, and Asian, to vote for change in enormous numbers. I think that when you get so sick and tired of being sick and tired, you take action. Anything of substance that can make a difference is met with opposition. I think I heard Dr. Cornel West say one day, “America sells a past that they want to see”. I think now- more than ever, the majority of the working class Americans want an America book which reads, for the people, by the people. No more abstracting the American people concerns. The Government has for so long had a ceremony of innocence, while the voices of America were muzzled. As American found sounds in their thoughts; the Government was finding ways to disenfranchise the thought.

Maybe now in the year 2008 we can move to a center piece that includes everyone in the American dream. We want to live in America where our flames don’t consume our faith. Where justice is truly for all, and where we can embrace that this nation was conceived in liberty. We want as Dr. King said it so eloquently, “I have a dream that one day we all will be able to sit down at the table of brotherhood”. In order for us to survive the storm, God wants unity, not separatism. He wants us to come together in forgiveness towards each other and move forward. America past is rigid with bullets of injustice, hatred, high level of supremacy and ignorance without shame. God says no more. In Gods eyes love and togetherness is stronger than any storm that comes our way.

Look at God, Portland Oregon here recently this year when Senator Obama did his speech, drew 75,000 on the waterfront. These are people famished for change. It’s undeniable that something is happening and its not the same old rhetoric as people would have you to believe, it’s a real change going on in the universe both good and bad. Things are being shifted and eliminated just so change can take place. Senator Obama is just the beginning, as the bible says “Eyes have not seen, nor hears heard what God has in store”. “God can see more from the bottom of a well, than a fool from the mountaintop”. No matter how hard the giants fight, David has and will always prevail. Senator Obama is just the eye opener of faith; there are many other miracles that shall happen. Things the wise men think he has well documented. As Sen. Obama says “Our Time is Now”…. America in Unity.
