We do not endorse, support or have any responsibility regarding the products or content contained in any other Site not owned or operated by Tavis Smiley. We deny permission in connection with the following.
- Advertising, marketing or activities resulting in financial gain.
- Political activities including using the content to support or endorse a political candidate, a political party or any groups with a primarily political purpose.
Use of Licensed Material
If we grant you a license to use our content, there are strict guidelines you must follow. We can and will revoke the license if you do not comply. Any content approved and provided must be used in its entirety. Permission is for one time use or for a pre-determined amount of time.
- For magazines, reprints, newsletters and newspapers, rates vary according to circulation and size.
- For classroom teaching at a college or university, stories must be used in their entirety and permission is limited to classroom use during one academic year.
- For audio used in a documentary or presentation, you may request a license for an entire story, an excerpt or a quote. Permission is limited to the one project or presentation specified in the written request. Rates vary according to the duration of the requested audio.
- For trade books and textbooks, you may request a license for an entire story, an excerpt or a quote. Permission is limited to the edition listed in the original request. Rates vary according to print run and the size of the story.
- For photos, logos and graphics, rates vary according to circulation, print or run. In the case of web use, the rate will be determined by the length of time that the photo or graphic will be posted. The maximum length of time is one year.

Unless a Site specifically asks for submission of material and has a submission policy, we do not welcome or review any unsolicited submissions. This policy is in place for your protection to prevent confusion and misunderstandings in the event a project is created that may seem similar to an unsolicited submission.
