  • PSA HBCU Apparel

    Plair Sports and Apparel recently announced the launch of a new officially-licensed collegiate apparel line to HBCU students, graduates, fans, and supporters, by pledging to donate 10% of the purchase price of all HBCU logo'd items, on top of the royalty payments, when purchased from its site. Founder Quentin Plair is a 1986 graduate of Florida A&M and is using this launch to "give back" to HBCUs.

  • Renee Powell

    One of only three African American women to ever play on Ladies Professional Golf Association's (LPGA) Tour; began competing as a golfer at age 12; made pro debut on LPGA Tour in 1967, with first tournament being U.S. Women's Open conducted by U.S. Golf Association; after she finished competing on the Tour, taught golf in Africa and Europe; later returned home to Canton, OH and served as head professional golfer at Clearview Golf Course—the first such facility designed, constructed, owned, and operated by an African American (her dad) and on National Register of Historic Places.
