The War in Iraq

Iraq has faded dramatically on all the network newscasts, except for a brief "comeback" after the 4,000th American died in the war and renewed fighting broke out in Basra and, again, following the update from Gen. Petraeus. Have people in the U.S. lost interest in the Iraq war, in deference to other issues, such as the economy and the presidential race?

Some films that air on cable have content that is at times a bit obscene, offensive or abrasive, and as such usually get edited out.
 

Does Diversity Training Work?

A Washington Post article cited the results of a study which says most mandatory company diversity training is ineffective:
A comprehensive review of 31 years of data from 830 mid-size to large U.S. workplaces found that the kind of diversity training exercises offered at most firms were followed by a 7.5 percent drop in the number of women in management.

Looks like the ghost-written tome, If I Did It, is sitting pretty on The New York Times best seller list:
The publisher of If I Did It: Confessions of a Killer, O.J. Simpson's hypothetical account of his ex-wife's slaying, says the book has hit No. 2 on the New York Times bestseller list for non-fiction. Former Federal Reserve chair Alan Greenspan's Age of Turbulence tops the list, but If I Did It comes out ahead of former U.S.

It’s been reported that in a videotaped deposition in the $10 million sexual harassment lawsuit filed by a fired Madison Square Garden executive, New York Knicks coach-president Isiah Thomas said he felt there was a difference in exactly who might call a Black woman the b-word:
During the questioning, Thomas also said he would find it more offensive if a white male called a black female a "bitch," than if a black male made the same comment.

    Hypocritical?

    An MSNBC article addresses how the Michael Vick case is dividing African American leaders:
    The case against Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick has exposed a split within both the NAACP and the larger African-American community, as some activists condemn Vick’s role in the deaths of fighting dogs and others cast him as a victim of a racist justice system.
    Is it hypocritical that some who demanded that Imus be fired for his comments are now demanding that Vick be returned to his job after pleading guilty
