Before the Supreme Court ruled in the case of the New Haven, CT firefighters, a Washington Post article assessed the pending ruling's impact on whites: 
Yesterday's intense, serious and expanded argument came in the first of two cases the court has taken to examine the role that race should still play in government policies.
